27 Oct Fall Festival Attracts A Crowd… Despite the Rain
The High Springs Church of Christ annual Fall Festival and Trunk-Or-Treat was once again a huge hit with the local community. As rainy weather threatened the festival, the decision was made to move all activities (except the Trunk-Or-Treat) inside the building. The classroom hallway became a ‘haunted hallway’ offering children a scary-fun surprise in every room. Games for the children were moved into the foyer, and our meal was served in the fellowship hall.
Fortunately, the rain subsided in time for the Trunk-or-Treat, as a hundred or so costumed children proceeded among the cars and SUVs to see these creative displays and collect their treats.
While numbers were down (due to the heavy rain at the start of the event), we still saw good crowds and thoroughly enjoyed yet another opportunity to bring-in our neighbors and introduce them to our family. Our next community festival will be our Spring Festival and Egg Hunt, to be announced in the springtime.
