22 Nov Youth Group Stocking Stuffers for MDCH
Every year, we put our best effort into bringing Christmas joy to the children and single parents of Mount Dora Children’s Home, This effort takes several forms, including the gifts purchased by members, and our year-long collection of stuffed animals. Because of COVID-19 concerns, this year’s Christmas Party had to be cancelled, but our commitment to our beloved friends at Mount Dora remained the same: we would not allow COVID to cancel their Christmas!
Our young people did their part to ensure that a cherished part of this Christmas celebration would be there: the Christmas stockings that are given to each Mount Dora child and parent. They sent out a call to members, asking them to provide toys and candy to use as stocking stuffers… and wow, we all responded with loads of goodies!
Several of these young people met at Nate and Molly Smith’s home on Sunday afternoon for a stocking stuffing party. They worked through the afternoon to stuff enough Christmas stockings to provide one for every child and adult at Mount Dora. Way to go!
