06 Aug Community School Paper Drive
Once again, members of the High Springs church have come through for our teachers at High Springs Community School. Few people know that public schools often provide a limited supply of “consumables” such as paper. If the supply runs out during the year (and it will; it happens every year) teachers are faced with buying more out of their own pocket.
When teachers in our congregation made us aware of this situation a few years ago, the first “paper drive” was organized. This year, with students returning to a full year of in-classroom learning and having to make up for lost time last year, the need for these supplies will be even greater.
Through our members’ donations, 45 full cases of copy paper were provided, along with several more loose reams… 2 full cases of pencils plus several boxes… packages of markers, construction paper, colored copy paper, and more. Our youth group participated in some of the unloading and loading duties, and on the rainy Thursday morning of August 5, a special delivery of this trailer-load of supplies was made to very appreciative school teachers and officials.
