Being a parent in this day and age is TOUGH. And sometimes, parents need an evening just to recharge… just to enjoy.
Our monthly Parents Night Out serves this purpose for our community. Parents can drop-off their kiddos at 5:45 pm. They are entertained and well cared-for, allowing the parents to enjoy a much-deserved night on the town.
If you’re a parent and are interested in enjoying an evening away from the kiddos with our assistance, tap or click here to find out more and to register for next month’s Parents’ Night Out.
Even in our prosperous and bountiful nation, hunger is still a concern for many. Government programs provide food assistance, but often with huge gaps between the request and when the food is provided.
Our food pantry, expertly managed by members Lynn Blanton, Martha Deese and Mike Peterson, helps many local families in times of desperate need.
Offers a wholesome summer camp experience for girls and boys aged 8 to 18, in the beautiful and natural setting of the camp’s 200-acre property on the Santa Fe River.
Our congregation was directly involved in the founding of this camp over 60 years ago, and remains involved to this day along with many other area congregations that support this good work.
We know all about natural disasters here in ‘hurricane country.’ The Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort coordinates the procurement of relief supplies, handing them over to local churches (like ours) for distribution to disaster victims.
Our members have provided financial assistance directly to this organization. We stand ready to provide our facilities as a storage or distribution site in times of need.
Every Sunday, a dozen or so congregation members participate in making our worship service come together. We’re always looking for individuals who would like to use their spiritual gifts in making our worship uplifting to members and pleasing to God.
There are many roles to be filled… greeting members and visitors, teaching classes, leading songs or prayer, serving the Lord’s Supper, reading from God’s inspired word, attending our nursery facilities, assisting with technology/sound and video, and many more.
Our facility serves many purposes: Bible classes, worship, fellowship, and hosting community events. It takes effort to maintain and improve this facility, so that it may continue serving us and the community for years to come.
When someone falls ill, is injured, or hospitalized, it often places a strain on the family’s time and finances. And sometimes, having a good meal is the first thing to be sacrificed.
Food groups have been organized to meet this need. Four separate groups serve on a rotational basis, so as to not overwhelm our cherished members who volunteer for this service. They stay aware of the needs of church members and others during their times of difficulty, and are ready to provide a hearty meal to those families when needed.
