What We Believe

We believe the Bible, nothing added, nothing taken away.
Yes, it’s that simple.
Don’t have time to read the entire Bible right now? We hope that you will, eventually… but for now, here are the essentials.

About God and Salvation

♫ There is a God,
He is alive!
In Him we live,
and we survive. ♪

These words, from one of our favorite worship songs, state a core belief of our church. He has existed forever as the Father (God), the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.

He has the power to change our lives here on Earth (Romans 12:2), and to grant us eternal life in Heaven once our Earthly days are done (John 3:16, Romans 6:23).

We love God

Yes we do, and we’re not ashamed to admit it! In doing so, it is incumbent upon us to obey His commands, and to live our lives in a manner that brings glory to Him (Matthew 5:16)…

… but we sometimes fail. The fact is, we are all imperfect, and incapable of earning our way to Heaven through good works… but we are “made perfect” through the grace He extends to us (Romans 9:30-32, and many others), purchased through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

We love others

We worship together. We enjoy meals together, laugh together, cry together, pray together, comfort each other, encourage each other, and bear each other’s burdens (Hebrews 10:24-25).

We reach out to our community and our world in many ways, which include providing nourishment to those in dire situations, creating a pathway for orphaned children to find a home, and providing the means for single parents in challenging situations to get the support they need (Matthew 25:34-36, James 1:27, James 2:15-16).

And, importantly, we strive to spread the good news of Jesus Christ to others, so that they also may experience the comfort and the hope that we have been given through our belief and obedience to His word. (Mark 16:15-16, and many others).

About our congregation

We are a local congregation of the family of God. We are not affiliated with the “International Church of Christ”, the “United Church of Christ”, or any denominational group that may have decided to use a similar-sounding name.

We are joined to other churches of Christ through a common love of God and belief in His word, but not through any worldly organization. Churches of Christ are not a denomination. There is no world or national headquarters. There is no national or regional governing convention.

Instead, we are led from within, with the support of the congregation, and we rely solely upon the Bible. The Old Testament provides a historical backdrop that is critical in understanding the need for the church (Galatians 3:24). The New Testament tells us about Jesus Christ and His plan for salvation, a plan that we follow today the same as Christians did when the churches of Christ (Romans 16:16) were established by Jesus Christ in the first century (Matthew 16:18, Acts 2).

Jesus’ message to us is simple. And we don’t complicate it with pomp and circumstance and bylaws and add-ons to the Bible. We stick to the Bible’s teachings. It’s as simple as that. We would enjoy the opportunity to study with you and answer your questions: please contact us.

Our worship practices

In a world where church services are getting more elaborate and performance-based, ours is a simple, unplugged style of worship. A typical worship service involves singing, prayers, the Lord’s Supper (or Communion), and a lesson from the Bible, given by our minister.
